Be careful as turpentine is flammable, so you mustn't use it next to heat sources.
Fat stains on the floor disappear if you spread a little talc or fine argil dust over it, as both absorb fats. Another solution would be to spread saw dust mixed with vinegar. Chocolate stains, or shoe cream stains can be removed with petrol and blood stains can be removed with warm water. Ink, stabile pen, printer ink, or lipstick traces can be removed using undiluted alcohol.

Fill very dirty ashtrays with vinegar and let it remain for 5 minutes. Rinse the ashtray and fill it again with vinegar, in order to remove persistent smell. Rinse with cold water.
Telephone hygiene
Microbes that cause colds and flu live on the surface of the objects that are handled by many persons. Clean the receiver of your telephone with pure vinegar. Bacteria cannot grow any more.
Bolt handle
Bolt handles are usually the dirtiest things in a house, and of course bacteria nest. If you clean bolt handles from time to time with a cloth soaked in vinegar, they will become as good as new. Vinegar kills microbes and removes dirt. Glass bolt handles will become shiny again.
