Shoelace Styles
As a kid learning how to tie your shoelaces is considered to be one of the important steps of the growth phase. It can also be one of the most infuriating things to learn. Most parents try innumerable ways to teach their kids how to lace shoes. Once you grow up and hit adolescence, this child-like way of tying shoelaces can seem like a fashion embarrassment, and then you start looking for different shoelace styles to tie up your chucks or sports shoes. There are many different shoelace patterns prevalent all over the world. This article elucidates a few of these shoelace tips and tying styles that you can use.
Shoelace Patterns
There are many different styles and patterns that you can use to tie your laces in order to change the appearance of your shoes. Different shoelace tying techniques tend to make a very cool statement and can make you seem quite fashion forward. With these eight different styles and some cool ways to lace shoes, you can try out new styles on a regular basis.
Army Lace Style
- At the bottom end of the shoes, the lace should be thread straight through both the eyelets.
- Now pull both ends of the lace out through the eyelets and thread it through the eyelets straight in front of them.
- Now cross both ends of the lace over each other on the inside and thread it out through the eyelets which are next in line.
- Repeat the threading in and crossing over process till you reach the last set of eyelets. Pull them out through these eyelets and then tie the shoelace.
- Similar to the army shoelace style of tying, thread the lace through the bottom eyelet.
- Now the end of the lace that is emerging from the eyelet on the right side is thread straight into the next eyelet and then run straight into the adjacent eyelet.
- Now both ends of the lace will be on the left side. Thread them into each alternate eyelet, while threading both ends alternately, straight through the eyelets on the right side.
- At the top of the shoe, the lace will end up on the same side and now tie up the shoelace.
- The lace is run through the bottom eyelets of the shoes with both ends being thread out of the next set of eyelets. This results in a gap.
- After this the ends are crossed over each other on the inside. Then thread through the next set of eyelets.
- Keep repeating these steps till you reach the last pair of eyelets and then tie the shoelace.
- This is one of the easiest shoelace designs that you can learn. The lace is thread on the inside through the pair of eyelets at the end of the shoe, to emerge through the bottom eyelets.
- The ends should be then crossed over each other. Next thread on the inside through the next set of eyelets.
- Keep repeating this step till you reach the last pair of eyelets.
- Thread the lace on the outside through the pair of eyelets that are second from the top of the shoe.
- Cross both the ends, skip one pair of eyelets and thread both the ends through the eyelets on the outside.
- Now repeat the step and thread them through the next alternate pair of eyelets. Once they are at the bottom most pair of eyelets, run both ends of the lace, vertically on the inside and thread them outside through the next pair of eyelets.
- Now repeat the threading process, except that now you will work your way up the shoes.
- Thread the lace on the inside to emerge through the eyelets on the bottom of the shoes.
- Next cross both ends of the lace and after skipping two pairs of eyelets, thread each of them through the third pair of eyelets.
- Now let the ends emerge through the next set of eyelets and then cross both the ends. Taking the lace downwards, thread them through the second set of eyelets from the bottom.
- Again let the ends emerge from the next set of eyelets and cross them over and thread them through the pair of eyelets that are topmost.
- Thread the lace through the bottom set of eyelets, threading them through the outside.
- Now cross both the ends of the laces on the inside and then thread them through the next set of eyelets.
- In the next step, cross both the ends on the outside and again thread both the ends through the next pair of eyelets.
- Repeat the steps till you reach the pair of eyelets on the top of the shoe and then knot the two ends.
- Thread the lace through the bottom set of eyelets, threading them on the outside.
- Now take the end of the lace on the left side eyelet and threading it on the inside, let it emerge from the eyelet that is the topmost.
- The other end of the lace should be thread in such a manner that it is first thread on the inside through the next eyelet, then crossed over to the left side, thread through the next eyelet and then crossed over to the right set. Repeat this threading process till you reach the topmost eyelet on the right side. Now knot both ends of the lace.
