Shampoo for Curly Hair
Curly hair can be tough to manage, where the constant fight with finding the right shampoos, conditioners, and hair care products can be difficult. The products, especially the shampoos, sold in the stores that claim to be gentle and effective, are in fact doing the exact opposite. At times, these shampoos tend to make the texture of your hair rough, dry, and brittle. So what can be done to escape such an issue while your hair is vulnerable in the sun and regular pollution? Have you given the idea of making homemade shampoo a thought? Natural ingredients used to make shampoo can be used to moisturize and bring the shine back to your curly hair. Instead of making hundreds of trips to the salon in hopes of finding the best shampoo, let's see how you can concoct your own recipe.
Homemade Shampoo
Now the thought of actually making the shampoo for coarse curly hair might seem tedious, but in reality, it only takes a few minutes. To make the best natural shampoo, here are some of the recipes which can help you maintain those beautiful curls.
Shampoo Recipe 1
Ingredients
- 4 bags chamomile tea or 1 handful fresh chamomile flowers
- 1 tablespoons glycerin
- 1 cups boiled water
- 4 tablespoons pure soap flakes
In a bowl, add the chamomile tea bags or flowers in with the boiled water. After 10 minutes, remove the tea bags or flowers and add the soap flakes. Let the soap turn soft and then add the glycerin. Stir with a wooden spoon and mix everything properly. Once the ingredients are combined, pour your shampoo in a clean bottle.
Shampoo Recipe 2
Ingredients
- cup liquid Castile soap
- cup aloe vera gel
- teaspoon light vegetable oil
- cup distilled water
- 1 teaspoon glycerin
Take a plastic bowl and mix all the ingredients, except the water, together. While adding the water, make sure you keep stirring the ingredients so that you don't add too much or too little water. Once you have your desired consistency for the shampoo, pour the final product in a clean bottle. Tighten the lid on it and shake the bottle properly.
Shampoo Recipe 3
Ingredients
- cup distilled water
- cup liquid Castile soap
- teaspoon lemon essential oil
- 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
- 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
Boil the water and add the dried rosemary in it. Leave it in for about 10-15 minutes and then strain the liquid. Let it cool and reach room temperature. Add the rest of the ingredients in it and mix properly. Pour the shampoo in a clean bottle and shake every time before use.
Shampoo Recipe 4
Ingredients
- 6 chamomile tea bags
- 6 peppermint tea bags
- 4 tablespoons liquid olive oil based Castile soap
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 2 teaspoons jojoba oil
In a pan, pour 2 cups of boiling water, chamomile tea bags, and peppermint tea bags. After about 20 minutes, remove the bags and let the liquid cool down. Once it reaches room temperature, pour the Castile soap and jojoba oil in the pan. Stir the liquid properly and store in a clean bottle. You can use different tea bags if you don't like the combination of chamomile and peppermint.
The secret to making homemade shampoo is to use fresh, natural, and organic products. There are many herbs and essential oils that can be combined to make excellent shampoo for curly hair. As you experiment with various combinations, you might just find the perfect shampoo for yourself.
