Although they are quite expensive to buy, the maximum cost tots up to 50% or slightly more than the original cost of the screen.

Instructions
  1. Depending on your laptop's configuration and screen size, purchase the new screen that fits your laptop model very well.
  2. Once the replacement parts are ready, shut down your laptop (if on), remove the battery and unplug it from the main supply.
  3. Locate the screw covers that hold the screen to the laptop computer. They are mostly on the plastic frame. Many laptops have 4 to 6 screws on them. Remove its covers first which are usually rubber caps or plastic and then grab a small screwdriver measuring the same size of the screw head and unscrew all the screws carefully.
  4. Once the screws are out of the plastic frame, the screen is easy to pull out. Do this procedure gently and carefully. If it doesn't come off easily, first check whether all the screws are unscrewed and later roll around the entire edge of the screen and loosen it easily. Then pull it out using both hands.
  5. Once the bezel is detached, you will see a metal frame surrounding the screen in its interiors. Tilt the screen of the laptop a bit in the front so that you have a clear view on the metal back of the LCD screen frame.
  6. Slide that screen out of its metal shell and next you will see are some wires which are actually the connections of the screen to the laptop.
  7. There will be two wires: first is the ribbon (video cable) which is generally taped to keep it in its proper place. Strip the tape out and separate the ribbon from the LCD screen. And the other wire is the power cable connecting to the inverter. Leave them untouched unless you plan to replace the inverter as well.
  8. Now that the old screen has been conveniently removed, it's time for replacing the old for the new. Grab the new screen, plug it up and place it in the metal shell carefully.
  9. Also, before you screw the new screen back to the laptop, make sure you test for its working condition. Power up your computer whilst the new screen is attached to it. If you see the screen displaying the power, it means that the piece is working fine.
  10. Alright, now you can shut down the laptop and continue to screw the screen in order to attach it to the bezel of the laptop. Cover the screw heads as they were with rubber caps or plastic.
After all the above steps are completely performed, your laptop screen certainly will not show any more problems. So, tell me, didn't you save a buck or two, by taking the initiative of doing the repair all by yourself?
