Troubleshooting Laptop Screen Problems

Touching the Screen

Laptop Screen Goes Black

To remove the screen, one would require a flat-head screwdriver. Once the screws are removed, the bezel should be taken out. Working the fingers in the area between the screen and bezel helps in loosening it. The first thing to examine after removing the bezel is to check for broken wires or loose connections. If a certain component needs replacement, one should note down its part number and shop for it online. Purchasing it from the manufacturer though, is a safe bet, however, it may require you to incur high cost.

If the LCD screen is broken, the cables between the notebook and screen need to be disconnected. The video cable should be disconnected by removing the tape and unplugging the connector present at the backside of LCD. The power cable between the inverter and LCD should also be removed. The screws that hold the LCD screen to the metal frame should be removed to replace it. Once the new screen is installed, video cable and inverter should be connected to it.
