Books to Read in 2012

There's a cavalcade of books that have been swarming book stands the world over, and book lovers and text addicts are trying to get their hands on these paperbacks. Whatever a book does for you, only you can really grasp and understand. Some people actually hate reading - wait let me rephrase that - some people actually hate books. How is that even a conceivable possibility is beyond me. These people in question are those that don't give that much-needed importance and reverence to text.

They don't want to let their minds push the envelope, delve deeper into text and explore its many underlying meanings, explore a whole new side of creative thinking or think passionately about expanding their minds beyond what it is conformed to. Such people need an awakening; when that's going to happen, I wouldn't know. A friend of mine doesn't read, so I handed over to her one of those self-help books that women need to be armed with, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Maybe this will spur her on to read books, since it has been a good handful of years since she's last read a book.

The next time you come across someone who doesn't like to read, or totally beats down the idea of reading, look them in the eye and tell them that they're never going to get very far with that attitude. It's true anyway, those who don't make it a habit to read, just don't really let themselves grow in any way. They're stunted for life, and you should be happy you aren't one of them.
