Jeans for Big Thighs
Happy Birthday, Jeans!
On May 20, 1873, Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss invented the blue jeans. However, back in the day, they were known as overalls. It was around 1960 that the word "jeans" became popular. Henceforth, May 20 is considered as the official birthday of "blue jeans".Since the trend of jeans is ever-changing, you will agree when I say that finding jeans for big thighs can be critical. Wearing clothes that won't make you look bulky or heavy is essential. So when it comes to choosing a pair of jeans that accentuate your figure, knowing certain dos and don'ts won't hurt. As you read this article, you will find suggestions on different types of jeans suitable for men and women that don't overemphasize the thighs.

Jeans for Women
Bootcut Jeans
Flared Jeans
Boyfriend Jeans
Bootcut Jeans
As the name suggests, bootcut jeans are slightly wider at the bottom part of the leg. This way, you get more leg room and can easily wear boots underneath the jeans. They give a slimming effect to your thighs because they are a bit snug at the knees.
Flared Jeans
Call them flared jeans or bell-bottoms, these jeans are wider from the knees down. Depending on which brand you choose, the broadness of the flare will vary.
Boyfriend Jeans
Boyfriend jeans are the opposite of skinny jeans; they are loose and look as if you've borrowed your boyfriend's jeans to wear. You can call these jeans a men's-inspired fashion but for women as they have a little feminine touch to it.
Jeans for Men
Bootcut Jeans
Relaxed Jeans
Straight Fit Jeans
Bootcut Jeans
Men's bootcut jeans are slightly different from women's. The jeans don't hug or seem tight near the thighs. The flare begins from the zipper and runs all the way to the hem. However, the jeans doesn't look heavy as it gives you a cozy fit.
Relaxed Jeans
In relaxed jeans, you will see that the jeans won't make the fit look sloppy, tight, or uncomfortable. As the name suggests, relaxed jeans give you a roomy, yet appropriate fit from the zipper to the hem. There is enough room near the thigh area till your ankles.
Straight Fit Jeans
Straight fit jeans have equal circumference/room all the way from the zipper to the hem. The jeans do not flare at the ankles and have a narrow, straight design.
What Not to Do While Shopping for Jeans
With all the 'do this' and 'do that' while buying jeans, we haven't concentrated the 'don'ts' part. Before you make a purchase, there are some checks that need to be followed inside the fitting room.
- Low-rise, super skinny, and ultra-low waist jeans are a big no-no. Go with a mid-rise jeans instead. This will prevent your belly from looking bulky and your sides popping out.
- Don't buy a pair of jeans with any kind of faded pattern on them. The faded jeans will make your hips look wider and your thighs thicker. Dark denims are your best friend.
- For curvy women, stretchy jeans won't make the thighs looks slimmer. So stay away from them.
