Homemade Recipes

With Lemon
This recipe needs lemon juice extracted from 2 lemons, 2 cups of club soda or water, 1 tsp cornstarch and tsp of peppermint essential oil. Take a spray bottle and pour all these ingredients in it. Shake the bottle well before using. Shake the bottle well before you squirt the mixture on the window. Spread it well on the entire window using a soft washcloth and rub the stains on the glass gently.

With Rubbing Alcohol
For the best window cleaning results you can opt for a solution of 1 cup rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol and 1 cup water. Also add a tbsp of clear, non-sudsing ammonia to this. Both rubbing alcohol and non-sudsing ammonia make effective cleaners and help remove any tough stains making the window glass extremely clean and clear.

With White Vinegar
Take 1 cup of white vinegar, add cup of water mix well and pour into a spray bottle. Add 15 drops of lemon essential oil to this bottle and shake well. You must shake well each time before use as the oil doesn't mix well. This cleaner with vinegar and lemon oil will give a perfect shine to your glass window.

With Detergent
Take your regular liquid dish-washing detergent and mix water in it. Do not make it too mild. Take a sponge and use this mixture to clean the windows. You can also use a mixture of 1 tsp of liquid Castile soap, 3 tsp apple cider vinegar and 2 cups of water to make an effective window cleaning recipe. Finish by cleaning the window with water and then wiping it off with glass wiper to ensure no water or detergent marks are left.

With Cornstarch
Take 5 tbsp cornstarch, cup of white vinegar and household ammonia each and a gallon of warm water. Take these ingredients in a bucket and stir well till the cornstarch dissolves completely. Apply on the window using a sponge and later clean with cold water.

The aforementioned cleaners will definitely help you get desired results. It is best to clean the window frame thoroughly and then work on the glass. One of the glass cleaning tips is that after you finish cleaning with the solution, wipe the window using sponge dipped in water. Finish by wiping the wet window with crumpled newspapers to prevent streaks. Newspaper is even better than white paper towels or tissues as it leaves no lint behind. Using a glass wiper is also a great idea while you work on larger windows. Remember, not to clean the windows when sun's rays are falling on the window glass. So use these cleaners regularly and get sparkling clean windows.
