Winter Hairstyles
With the change in season, it is time for you to don winter clothing. The fashion trend for this autumn/winter suggests the use of bold colors and jewel tones in clothing. With this change in clothing trends, you need hairstyles that will complement your outfit. Winter hairstyles can be more fun and flamboyant with stunning updo hairstyles and lots of curls. Straight hair worn simply, also looks great when paired with trench coats and skinny jeans. You can also go for a casual hairstyle like a half updo hairstyle for a laid back look.
Casual Half Up Half Down Hairstyle
To create this hairstyle you need to have thick wavy hair or straight hair. This hairstyle is easy to create on hair that has been washed a day or two ago. First blow dry hair straight with the help of a blow dryer. Now part your hair into one big section, by taking hair from both sides of the temple. With a rat tail comb or a medium size paddle brush, backcomb hair until you get a lot of height and volume. When you have created sufficient height, secure this teased hair section at the back of the crown with a bejeweled barrette or some other hair accessories. Lightly apply a bit of hair mousse over the teased section of hair to smooth it out.
French Twist Updo
One of the best winter hairstyles for long hair, the French twist hairstyle is not very difficult to create. For best results, style this hairstyle on hair that has been washed a day or two ago. To get this hairstyle, first untangle your hair and brush it with a wide toothed comb. Now backcomb the crown section of hair to create more volume. Now, brush the rest of your hair towards the right shoulder, holding it firmly and tightly at the nape of your head. To secure the hair, insert five or six bobby pins diagonally. Twist the rest of your hair upwards, making sure that it is towards the left shoulder. Make sure that the twist is firm but not too tight and it covers the bobby pins. Use some more bobby pins to secure the twist at the back of the head. Apply a bit of hair spray to set the style.
Chic Bun
Buns might seem very matronly, but when done right they can be stylish and chic. To create this great winter hairstyle, you need to first wash and condition your hair with an anti frizz shampoo and conditioner. Next, blow dry hair straight with a blow dryer and paddle brush. Create an extreme side part and brush back hair to the nape of your head. Secure hair into a low ponytail. Take a bit of shine serum in your hand and rub it along the length of the ponytail. Now twist ponytail into a loop and pin the end of ponytail to the elastic band used for ponytail with bobby pins. Spritz the bun hairstyle with a bit of hair spray to set it.
Pinned Back Wavy Hairstyle
This is one of the easiest hairstyles to create at home and works best for shoulder length hair. First wash and condition your hair with a volumizing shampoo and curl enhancing conditioner. Now blow dry your hair straight by using a blow dryer. Part your hair in the center and clip a small 2 inch section of hair from the front, behind one ear. Use a jeweled barrette or hair clip to secure this section of hair. Now curl the rest of the hair in soft loose curls by using a curling iron. This is a great hairstyle for thick hair which has a bit of wave to it.
Experiment a little with your hair this season and create unique hairstyles. Don't forget to take care of tresses in the winter, as they are prone to drying and damage. Winter hairstyles, whether elaborate updos or soft open hair, all looks great in this season.
