Vitamin B
Don't expect any improvement in hair loss patterns unless the diet is supported by vitamin B foods. For a healthy hair growth, one simply cannot afford to have deficiency in B vitamins. One has to no longer worry about hair loss if the diet is providing adequate amount of vitamin B. Be it vitamin B3, B6 or B12, all are essential to stimulate hair growth. Biotin and folic acid belonging to B vitamin group are equally important to prevent hair from falling. So those looking for hair loss prevention remedy need to include all the possible natural sources of B vitamins in the diet. This is definitely one of the best vitamins for hair growth. Vitamin B is abundantly found in protein rich foods like fish and eggs.
Vitamin A
Besides vitamin B, what are the other vitamins for hair loss for women and men. In order to maintain normal hair growth process, it is necessary that the body gets its daily dose of vitamin A. This is an essential nutrient, without which keeping healthy locks of hair is a distant dream. With vitamin A deficiency, hair follicle (tubular structures that contain hair root) cells are susceptible to free radical damage, which in turn induces hair loss. So, eating vitamin A rich foods everyday is one of the pre-requisites to keep male or female pattern baldness at bay. It is the most effective remedy for falling hair. Some of the common sources of vitamin A are green leafy vegetables and dairy products like milk and yogurt.
Vitamin C
This nutrient also comes in the list of vitamins for hair growth for men and women. Vitamin C is basically an antioxidant that can also contribute substantially to prevent hair loss. Free radicals, molecules produced during oxidation process in our body are responsible for making hair brittle and weak. When hair becomes weak, it is very unlikely that they will remain on top of the head. However, this can be avoided through intake of antioxidant rich foods. The damaging effects of free radicals cannot harm the hair if natural sources of antioxidants are an integral part of diet. Otherwise, a diet deficient in vitamin C will eventually give rise to excessive hair loss. Citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit are considered to be excellent sources of vitamin C.
Vitamin E
Doctors often tell that a solution to prevent falling hair is to take nutrients that stimulate blood flow to the scalp. The blood transports all the nutrients from the ingested food to the hair root located in the scalp area. Studies show that vitamin E can play an important role to boost blood circulation to the scalp area. As the amount of blood reaching the scalp increases, the supply of nutrients to the hair also increases. This nourishes the scalp and prevents hair loss. No wonder vitamin E is one of the best vitamins for hair growth for women.
One can also take vitamin supplements to keep hair healthy. Honestly speaking, if one is following a well-balanced diet, it is unnecessary to have these supplements. However, those wanting to take supplements will have to consult a doctor to know about proper dosage. Apart from following a healthy diet, one must choose proper hair care products in order to have shiny, lustrous locks of hair years down the line. Following hair care tips like washing the hair twice every week with a herbal shampoo and massaging the scalp with pure coconut oil on alternate days, can also help to prevent dandruff and thinning of hair.
