Bleach Hair to White
Hair coloring has emerged as an important part of routine beauty regimens. While, blondes opt for various hair colors, those with darker hair have to undergo a few more procedures to get their hair colored. Otherwise too, there are many people, who desperately want white hair. In case of dark-haired people, the process of hair coloring is a little more difficult, as compared to their blonde counterparts. Dark hair in itself possesses higher levels of pigments, which make it difficult to absorb the hair dye. They may find that the end result is different from what they had imagined. However, whitening dark hair can be a difficult as well as risky task. It is not actually dying, but the hair has to be bleached to make it white in color. Actually, the dark hair is bleached to a lighter shade and then the color is applied, so that the dye is absorbed better and the desired result is obtained.
How to Bleach Hair to White
Hair bleaching should be done with extreme caution, as it is a process, which can cause severe damage to one's hair. At first, your hair may turn orange or yellow in color, and you may have to undergo several rounds of bleaching, so as to make your hair white. Another drawback of bleaching hair white, is that you cannot get back your natural hair color, until your hair grows out, or else, you may color your hair to a shade, that is closer to your natural hair color. Hence, it is always better to bleach hair to white with the help of an expert to avoid any such problems. Otherwise, you can do this at home, with bleaching products specially meant for hair.
- You have to prepare for hair bleaching, at least for two weeks, before you intend to bleach hair. If your hair is already dyed, strip those colors before bleaching. Use a good quality conditioner, so as to minimize hair damage.
- You must use plastic bowls to mix the bleach and should wear gloves while mixing and applying the bleach on hair.
- The bleach should be of good quality, specially meant for hair. You should mix the ingredients of the hair bleach kit, as per the instructions of the manufacturer. Never forget the hair test, wherein, you have to immerse a piece of your hair in the bleach mixture, so as to check the reaction.
- Once you are ready with the bleach which is mixed thoroughly, part your hair into small sections and start applying the mixture with a plastic brush.
- Start from the back side of your head, as it is said that the hair at that region is darker. As heat can boost the bleaching process, it is always better to work from the tips and apply the bleach on the hair roots as the last step. This may also minimize possible damage to the hair roots.
- Once you are done with the whole hair, cover it with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Check the hair color randomly, so that you can remove the bleach as soon as you get the desired results.
- If you have really dark hair, you may get a golden orange or yellow color during the first application. You may remove the bleach after twenty minutes, but, never leave the bleach in your hair for more than an hour. You can also speed up the bleaching process by mildly heating it with a hair dryer. Make sure that every portion is treated equally.
- You must remove the bleach, as soon as you notice any signs of hair damage or other problems, like, itching. Some people use desensitizers to avoid the discomfort caused by bleach. You can rinse off the bleach and wash the hair with a conditioner.
- While some people bleach hair to white with a single application of bleach, others have to repeat the process a few more times.
