Homemade Deodorant
Using the best deodorant, specially on a hot summer day, is a must if you would not like to smell bad. But there are so many problems that people face while using a deodorant brought from the market. These are deodorants which are full of harmful chemicals which not only harm our skin but even the environment. There are people who have developed rashes on their body after using these store brought deodorants. Moreover, no matter how much these deodorants says '24 hours long-lasting', they hardly last a few hours (with some exceptions of course) and either you have to use it again or you have to go the day without it. Does that mean that you have to bear the sweaty summers without a deodorant just because you are allergic to it? I don't think so! Make Deodorants at Home
Making your own deodorant at home is easy if you know how. The deodorants that one gets from the store, is full of aluminum which are harmful for our skin. The best thing that we can use are aluminum free deodorants which are safer and the deodorants made at home are natural and free of any chemicals and it will leave your skin feel soft as unlike the store bought deodorants, it will not absorb the natural moisturizer of the skin and it will also leave you feeling fresh and smelling nice all day long.
Recipe 1
Things Required
- Coconut Oil (10 tablespoons)
- Baking Soda ( cup)
- Cornstarch ( cup)
- The first thing that you have to do is mix the baking soda and cornstarch in a bowl (instead of baking soda you can also use arrowroot powder). Next you have to add the coconut oil (about 9 tablespoons) to this mixture and mix well.
- Make a thick paste out of it and then fish out an old deodorant bottle and put this paste in it. The deodorant will harden up depending upon the temperature of the surrounding environment.

Things Required
- Baking Soda ( cup)
- Shea Butter (as per requirement)
- Cocoa Butter (as per requirement)
- Cornstarch or arrowroot powder ( cup)
- Tea tree oil or any other essential oil (if needed)
- In a bowl, you have to mix all the ingredients except for the oil. It will be better if you heat up the butter a bit as it will be easier for you to mix them when they are slightly soft.
- After you have mixed the whole thing really well, add the oil into it and then put this deodorant in a small bottle and leave it overnight. You can use a bit of it every day, and it sure is safe.
Recipe 3
Things Required
- Distilled Water (1 cup)
- Aloe vera gel (1 cup)
- Witch Hazel (1 cup)
- Glycerin (4 spoons)
- Essential oil (few drops)
Put all these in a bottle which you can use to spray and shake well. Your spray deodorant is now ready to be used. Simple right? Now you know how to make deodorants from the comforts of your own home. No need to spend your money behind those expensive ones anymore, and also no fear about getting any kind of skin infection from the harsh chemicals that the commercial deodorants use.
