Exercise Equipment for Home
Majority of the people today lead very busy lifestyles what with working hours sometimes extending to eleven-twelve in a day. Due to long working hours, people hardly get time to relax. Also, by working round the clock, the eating pattern gets disturbed. All this has led to the emergence of lifestyle diseases and conditions such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc. The solution to all these problems lies in exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet. However, people might find it difficult to accommodate gym time in their daily schedule. This is where home gyms come in. With home gyms, a person need not worry about going to a gym or going out for a run.
While buying exercise equipment for the home gym, a person should be very careful about his choices. He should thoroughly research about the benefits, drawbacks of each of the exercise equipment for home use, before opting for one. Given below are some of the most effective of home exercising equipment.
Exercise Equipment for Home Use
Treadmill
Treadmill is one of the most popular exercise equipment for home use. Running and walking on a treadmill is an excellent cardiovascular exercise. Treadmills come with a moving platform and a wide conveyor belt. They are run through an electric motor. A person steps on this conveyor belt and walks or runs in the opposite direction of the conveyor belt which moves towards the rear. The user can control the running speed by keeping the speed of the conveyor belt slow or fast, as required. These days, treadmills come with features wherein the exerciser can count the number of calories he expended while using the treadmill and can monitor the changes in his heart rate while working out.
Stationary Bicycle
Considered to be one of the best exercise equipment for home use, an exercise bike has all the features of an ordinary bike, the only difference being that it is, as the name suggests, static. These bikes help in increasing the general fitness of the user and are also great for safe, low-impact cardiovascular exercising. They tone up and build muscles of the legs and thighs. Stationary bikes do not occupy much space and can be kept anywhere, even in front of the TV. A person can exercise as well as watch TV or read a book simultaneously while working out on these stationary bikes.
Flexaball, Rowing Machines and Ab Wheels
Fitness exercise equipment for home gyms that work on the abdominal muscles are a must have for those contemplating a home gym. Flexaball are great to perform abdominal exercises such as crunches. A rowing machine can be used by people of all ages to get toned abs. This machines re-creates the rowing action on land, thus working on the abdominal muscles in the process. Ab wheels, which come with a wheel attached to a rod in the center, are great to build one's core strength, however should be used only by an advanced exerciser and not by beginners.
Bars, Dumbbells and Weighs
Bars, dumbbells and weights are great to build resistance as well as muscles of various body parts such as arms, legs, chest and abdomen. So, for a home gym, a person can opt for all or any of these equipment such as pull-up bars, push-up bars, chin-up bars, sit-up bars, dumbbells, ankle weights, leg weights, wrist weights and running weights.
Smith Machine
This exercise equipment is a safer option when compared to free weights for weight training at home. This machine comes with vertical steel rods in which barbells are inserted and then used for weightlifting. There are a number of exercises that an exerciser can perform with a smith machine such as bicep curls, calf raises, squats, triceps dips, dead lifts, upright rows, push-ups, lunges and bent over rows. As can be seen, this machine works on almost each and every muscle of the body. However, according to some exercise equipment for home reviews, this machine, although safer is not as effective as free weights.
The above mentioned exercise equipment for home can prove to be really effective in keeping you fit and fine, provided you make a routine of exercising everyday and stick to it. Best of Luck!
