Cross Training Shoes Vs. Running Shoes
How many of us, while buying a pair of shoes, stop and think about the type with regards to its use. More often than not, we all go in either for the brand and/or the look. We are then just thrilled when we put on the new pair and go out, either for a walk, to train, or for a jog. Later, we find ourselves complaining of backache and knee ache. Hence, it is vital to know what type of shoes you will require for what activity. If your sole purpose of getting a pair of shoes is for exercising, then you must get cross trainers. And if you want a shoe pair for running or jogging, then you must get running shoes for yourself.
The most obvious difference is that running shoes are meant for running and cross trainers are to be worn when you gym or while doing cross training exercises. You may think that it's silly, but trust me, there is a huge difference between the two. To truly understand the difference between these two types of shoes, you should try running shoes while on a cross trainer, and you will easily spot the difference. The first major difference between cross training shoes and running shoes is that running shoes are flexible and firmer around the toes, whereas, as compared to them, cross trainers are more firmer and lesser flexible.
Running Shoes
Since running shoes are meant for running, their design is totally different as compared to cross trainers. When we run we first tend to put pressure on the heels first and then gradually the pressure move towards the toes. So the heels must be firm and must provide support. Hence, running shoes are made in such a way that they compel forward motion, provides more support with thicker heels and soles. They've got decent cushioning which also helps to absorb shock, thus helping in preventing injury. Best running shoes provide with exceptional heel support and that is because we slam our feet on the ground and hence it must protect from injury. Their design is such that the toe part of these shoes are slightly lifted, so that it will be easier for the runner to propel forward. Choosing running shoes can be difficult because there are numerous varieties of these shoes available out there.
Cross Training Shoes
The best cross training shoes on the other hand, provide lateral support equally all over. These are basically multi-tasking shoes, which are great for providing firm grip to all areas of the feet and also it provides with weight bearing stability. Cross trainers are kind of all-rounders. Cross training shoes for flat feet are great as they provide necessary lateral support for aerobic activities and other types of strength activities too. Hence, these are great for wearing at gym, playing tennis, while doing aerobics, etc. Because of their durability and multi purpose functionality, they are considered as the most appropriate shoes for multiple physical activities. The soles of these shoes are specially designed to give additional support to your heels and legs. When you go out shopping for them, it will be wise to go through few cross trainers reviews.
The purpose of use is the main thing that makes the difference between cross trainers and running shoes. If you indulge in running, then it is best to get proper running shoes. And if you want shoes for other physical activities like a gym, weights and other strength exercises, then it is better to get cross training shoes for men and women respectively.
