Beeswax Lip Balm
Who doesn't love the flavor and feel of juicy strawberry lip balm on their lips? Well, everyone does, at least we women do! Dabbing a bit of lip balm on our lips every few hours has sort of become a habit for us. Lip balm is a great way of protecting our lips from chapping due to harsh weather. A layer of lip balm underneath your favorite lipstick protects your lips from the chemicals in the lipsticks. However, sometimes the ingredients in the commercially available lip balm itself are dangerous for your lips and do more damage than good. In such cases, making your own beeswax lip balm is a great way of ensuring the beauty of your lips.
Beeswax Lip Balm Recipes
General Instructions
Beeswax comes in shredded pieces or blocks, which need to be melted at home. It does not completely become liquid. but turns into a soft mass when heated adequately. It should never be heated directly on the flame, instead it should be either micro waved with small, repeated time intervals or double heated in a pot of boiling water. Other lip balm ingredients can be added depending upon the desired flavor. The key to making a quality lip balm is thoroughly mixing the ingredients, so that there is no lump formation. You may also melt a capsule of vitamin E, to increase the health value of your lip balm. Given below are some recipes for making flavored lip balm. You will need to arrange for lip balm containers and tubes to store your homemade lip balm.

You may add coloring agents such as beetroot juice to your beeswax lip balm. However, refrain from adding synthetic coloring or flavoring agents, as they could deteriorate the value of your lip balm. Always seal your lip balm containers tightly and store them in cool, dry place. If you find a change in texture or smell of your lip balm, discard the entire batch and make a new one.
