All of us have something that we depend on, to comfort us. It could be anything from a soft toy to your favorite music to the most comfortable clothes that you can sink into, pajamas! The term 'pajama' was amalgamated into the English language from Hindustani, the antecedent of Urdu and Hindi and the word is developed from a Persian word meaning "leg garment". Pajamas are extremely comfortable and the most preferred garment for night clothes or sleepwear.

Pajamas are a ubiquitous part of every child's life. A sleepover, also widely referred to as pajama party, is a party where a guest or guests are invited to stay overnight. Typically, children enjoy pajama parties and are usually combined with a birthday celebration or any other special occasion. Children indulge in playing indoor games, pillow fights, staying up late, chatting, watching movies or playing video games. Pre-teen and teens, especially girls, enjoy a night of doing girly things together like painting their nails and toes, applying make up on each other and anything that reads fun and enjoyment. In fact, like many other special events dedicated to a particular day, 'Pajama parties' are so prominent that 'pajama party day' is celebrated with gusto. On this day, children wear pajamas and slippers to school or bring a pillow or soft toy /animal they like to cuddle and play with. Children read bedtime stories to each other and tuck themselves to sleep.

Young women throw a bachelorette party with pajama party themes. The bride has her last day of fun with her girlfriends, one last time before she gets married and is hooked on for life.
