Vegetable Glycerin for Hair Growth
Are you searching for solution to take care of your dry and brittle hair? Using vegetable glycerin is a good option for solving this problem. It's natural, it's herbal and it is a tried and tested formula since ages. Glycerin is a natural carbohydrate extract from vegetable oils. It is soluble in water as well as alcohol. Glycerin itself is a very good solvent for many other substances. It is popularly used to make medicines as well as cosmetics. It is odorless and transparent with a sweetish taste. It has a syrup like consistency which makes it an excellent ingredient in soaps and shampoos.
How Glycerin Helps Hair Growth?
Glycerin has valuable natural properties very similar to an emollient that can soften and soothe rough, dry and brittle hair. Most of us have a problem of brittle hair and split ends because of dryness of hair and scalp. However, glycerin seeps into the epidermis of the scalp and softens it from within. Glycerin has a potential to absorb moisture and humidity from the air. This can be proven by keeping a bottle of glycerin open overnight. When you check the bottle in the morning there is accumulation of water in the bottle along with glycerin. This property of glycerin, as a humectant is most essential for retaining moisture within the scalp and boost hair growth. Vegetable glycerin is popularly used in hair care products like soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hair gels, hair oils, etc.

Some of you may be allergic to glycerin and its usage may result in irritation to skin and eyes. An accidental ingestion of vegetable glycerin may cause sore throat, dry mouth and more thirst. And finally, avoid usage of glycerin if you are diabetic.
