Home Remedies for Fast Hair Growth
She walks down the lane with her hair down to her waist and...everything stops. The pizza delivery boy drops the 8 cartons of pizzas, as he dashes with the waiter at the local bistro. Pizzas and papers everywhere. The group of 4 guys clutch at their hearts and take a dramatic fall to the ground, puppy faces and all; and the neighborhood boy, hardly 14, whistles the flirt whistle anthem...she stops in her tracks. Flips her hair, and in one swift motion, the long curtain of hair moves up into the air and slithers back purposefully and obediently down to her waist again. She turns around, looks at the scene unfold and smiles her secret smile, then continues on her way. "It's all 'coz of her hair. And if you want..." The commercial rolls to a stop.
I wish I had hair like that. I wish I knew how to get the hair to grow real fast and then grow out this bob into that length and just walk about flaunting it. Whatever your reasons for wanting it, you know you can have it, right? If you have the proper hair growth secrets, then it's not difficult at all. Don't have the time, money or patience to visit a salon, hair spa etc. for effective hair care? No need to fret, really. Here are some home remedies that you can carry forth from the comfort of your home and get that hair.
Massage Away
Massaging one's hair, with or without hair oil, is a great way to stimulate the roots of the hair and increase blood circulation to that area. This will stimulate hair growth like no other. Make it a weekly routine to mix castor, coconut, olive and almond oil (or either) in equal quantities and heat it till it's warm. Rub this mixture into the roots of the hair and then proceed to massage and stimulate the scalp for a good 10 minutes. Keep for an hour or overnight and wash off with a good shampoo (that preferably contains amla, shikakai and henna).
Hair Masks
Fuller's earth is not only great for a clear glowing skin but also for healthy hair growth. Take a large amount in a bowl and make it into a paste with water. Apply this to your hair from root to tip and let it sit for an hour. Then rinse off. There are many such hair pastes that are available in Ayurveda that you can use in the same manner. Contact an Indian store or site for more information.
Other Remedies
Here are some herbal remedies that work great for hair growth. There are many provided so choose according to your comfort and availability and get going.
- Take an Aloe vera leaf and slice it into two to get the gel out. Apply this gel to the roots and tips of the hair and let it stay for 30 minutes. You can add a few drops of honey to this as well. Wash off after the stipulated time.
- Use the water that is used to cook the potatoes in to wash your hair. This is an excellent hair growth remedy.
- Apply the juice of coriander leaves and massage into the scalp. Leave overnight and wash off.
- Not only coconut oil but coconut milk is also an excellent answer for hair growth. The hair roots absorb it quite easily and quickly and work its magic. This is extremely sticky so make sure you don't keep it for too long. Wash it off after 30-60 minutes.
- Mix 1 egg with yogurt and mustard oil and beat into a smooth consistency. Use this to massage into scalp and leave for 40 minutes, then wash off.
- Take some fenugreek powder and mix it with some black beans that have been cooked. Use this paste to wash the hair 2-3 times a week.
- Use the same paste of cooked beans and fenugreek powder, and add 5-6 tbs of coconut milk and 1 tbs of lemon juice. Massage into the scalp and let it sit for 15 minutes then rinse with a natural shampoo.
- One of the other successful options is to use hair vitamins for fast hair growth. Vitamin E is especially known to help in improving the condition of hair, stop hair loss and promote hair growth.
