Flip Flop Crafts
Flip flops are the most comfortable amongst all the footwear and shoes available in the market. But most of the time, they are available in simple designs or you do not get the kind of flip flops you want. With crafts, one can decorate and design flip flops according to one's wish and choice.
Bejeweled Footgear
The materials needed for making this design are: flip flops with canvas strap, acrylic jewels, flowers, glitter, tacky glue, flat sticks and a small paint brush. With the help of flat sticks, put the glue on the jewels and attach them to the flip flops. Paint the strap of the canvas and sprinkle some glitter on only one side. The excess glitter should be cleaned and wiped with a cloth. Now, you can sprinkle glitter of another color on the remaining part of the strap. Let the footwear dry completely. After they have dried, shake off the excess glitter.
Beady Business
The materials required are: an assortment card, paper, gift wrapping paper, craft foam, scissors, glue, beads, silk flowers and stickers. Prepare a template of the flip flop and accordingly cut individual pieces. With the help of the templates, carefully cut out the craft foam. With the help of a pencil and nail scissors or metal screwer, pierce three holes in the flip flop. The next step requires two pipe cleaners for each flip flop. Bend the pipe cleaners backwards, underneath the flip flop, so that it is fixed well. For the purpose of decoration, you can use cuttings of craft foam and thread the pipe cleaners through that. You can also thread beads on the pipe cleaner.
Pen-seal Affair
The materials you will require are ribbon, adhesive tape and pencil. For this craft, two different flip flop materials are required. Cut a large piece from one material and a small one from the other material. On the smaller piece, cut three holes and then with a pointed pencil, insert the ribbon in through these holes. With an adhesive tape, secure the ribbon underneath the flip flop. Glue the top of the flip flop, i.e. the smaller piece to the larger piece. While doing this, take care that the ribbon is between these two pieces.
Flip to Foam
The materials you will require are: white foam flip flops, ribbons (preferably narrow) in assorted style and color, scissors and rulers. The first step is to cut all the ribbons in 2 equal pieces. Start from the center and glue these ribbons with an adhesive to the straps of the flip flop, till you reach the end. This will make a colorful, unique and attractive footwear.
Feather Touch
Along with flip flops, you will also require white craft glue, colorful feathers and different colored buttons. The procedure for this craft is similar to the one above. Start sticking a button and a feather alternatively from the center of the strap till you reach the end of the strap. Allow this to dry completely so that the buttons and feathers will be stuck in a secure manner to the strap.
There are many ways in which you can decorate your flip flops, like, you can decorate them with different colored ribbons, strings, flowers, etc. You can also add some glitter to it by sprinkling some sparkle on it.
