Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner
The simplest way to clean jewelry in today's date is to make use of an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Ultrasound technology has come with the most sophisticated, accurate and least harmful method of micro cleaning a whole range of items. An ultrasonic jewelry cleaner can be defined as a device that is run electronically and designed to take away dirt and grime from rings, necklaces, earrings and other pieces of jewelry. These devices can be easily found on homes shopping channels or on the internet. You can also go out shopping next time and one if these. The device is really easy to use and it can serve the purpose within five minutes to seven minutes without much manual effort like scrubbing or polishing or even the use of harsh chemicals.
Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner: Parts and Function
The basic ultrasonic jewelry cleaner unit makes use of water and gentle ultrasonic waves to remove dirt and dust from delicate items like rings, eyeglasses, bracelets, necklaces and the like which are risky to clean with any other hands. The cleaners that are available in the market lately are really easy to use. One just needs to place the jewelry in the cleaning chamber of the ultrasonic cleaner which has to be then filled with water, then the cover ahs to be closed, and then it has to be turned on. Within the time of three to five minutes, the jewelry you put in comes out as sparkling and new.
The device has two parts which help it to function the way it does. They are:
- A small motor
- A cleaning tank
Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner: How to use it?
The process of using of the Ultrasonic Cleaner is fairly simple. If you are using it for the first time, do care to read the manual once, which will enlighten you on the basics of the operation system of the device.
- Once you want to start the process of cleaning, fill some warm water in the cleaning tank or a cleaning solution, if you have qualms about using water. The cleaning solution can be of any constitution; it can contain non-ionic surfactants, detergents or even ammonia except for bleach and acids as cleaning agents.
- Now switch on the so that the cleaning solution can warm up a bit. After around five to ten minutes put the jewelry you intend to clean in the cleaning tray.
- After some time (as the specific timeframe stated in the manual) you can switch the device off, open the lid and douse the jewelry in the mixture twice or thrice and again put it as it was and switch the device on to complete the cycle of cleaning.
- Once done take the jewelry out of the cleaner, and clean it under running water, if required otherwise just dry them with a clean cloth and lo! Your jewelry is new again.
When the device is switched on, the motor of the device produces ultrasonic energy, which is transmitted with vibrating waves. It is estimated that on an average, an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner emits a minimum of forty thousand sound waves every second. There is a process called Cavitation in which microbubbles are created as a result of the vibrating motion of the ultrasonic waves. There are so many bubble created that each of then actually knocks against each other and to the items kept in the cleaning tray, thereby reaching to even the little crevices of the pieces of jewelry. So this is the process by which an Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner cleans your jewelry so effectively. This process does not harm your jewelry at all and it is very safe for jewelry as expensive as platinum but it should not be used for opals, pearls, emeralds and other soft stones.
