Hair loss is a common problem that is not only seen in men, but also in women. Though one of the main causes of hair loss is hereditary, there are many other factors that can lead to hair loss. People who are experiencing stress at workplace or at home can suffer from the problem of hair loss. Presence of dandruff in the hair is another major reason for hair loss. Women may experience hair loss during and sometimes even after pregnancy because of hormonal changes in the body. Losing hair can also be an indication of diseases like thyroid. Moreover, in today's times, hair is considered to be an asset that enhances the way one looks. Due to this, people do not think twice before experimenting with different hair styles and colors. Though these hairstyles are quite fashionable, it does damage hair a lot. The most common disadvantage of experimenting with hair, is again hair loss because hair styling products are made of chemicals. In addition to this, hair care products i.e. shampoos and conditioners that people use also contain harsh chemicals which are harmful for hair. Hence, it is important to know about the remedies which help in curing the problem of hair loss and at the same time, does not have any side effects. Here are some remedies for hair loss for women as well as men which will not only stimulate hair growth but also aid in hair loss prevention.
Natural Home Remedies for Hair Growth
Most people choose popular hair care products which are widely advertised as best for hair growth. However, as I mention earlier, most of these products have side effects and though the hair looks good after using them, it has long term effects on the hair. Hence, it is best to opt for remedies that are natural. Another advantage of using natural remedies for hair growth is that they are much cheaper than the expensive hair products available in the market. Let us take a look at the natural home remedies for hair growth.
Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera which is said to be a boon for treating skin problems and diseases is said to be one of the best remedies for hair growth. It gets rid of the problem of dandruff and lice from the hair and at the same time, makes hair smooth and soft. You can get aloe vera gel from health food stores as well as drug stores. Wash hair as usual with shampoo and then apply aloe vera gel thoroughly in your hair. Keep it for a few minutes and then, wash if off with cold water.
Henna: Henna which is popularly used as a natural way for hair coloring is also known to have other benefits for hair. Henna is used as a conditioner which strengthens the roots and enhances hair growth. Henna paste can be made by combining it with egg, coffee, yogurt, lemon juice and some water. Add a teaspoon of coconut or olive oil into henna paste as this helps in making the hair smooth and soft. Apply this henna paste on the hair and let it stay on your hair for 45 - 60 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. The henna paste application will make your hair smooth and healthy.
Egg Treatment: Egg which is considered to be one of the important parts of a healthy diet is said to one of the best hair growth remedies. Eggs act as a conditioner and is best for people who have dull and dry hair. Take 2 egg yolks in a bowl and mix two teaspoons of castor oil to it. Apply this mixture on your hair, while massaging your scalp with your fingertips. Leave it on your hair for 15 - 20 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Another way of using eggs as a natural remedy for hair growth is to make a mixture of 1 egg yolk, cup yogurt, and a little lime skin. Apply this on every strand of hair and rinse after 10 minutes.
Natural Hair Care Tips
Apart from these natural remedies for hair growth, there are some tips that you have to follow to ensure healthy hair growth. They are as follows:
- Massage your hair with olive or coconut oil at least twice in a week. Massaging helps in making the roots of the hair strong, thus improving hair growth.
- One must never wash hair with hot or warm water as this can damage the hair. Rather, one must always wash hair with lukewarm water. A mild shampoo and conditioner should be used to wash hair.
- Once you wash your hair, rub your scalp vigorously till heat is generated. This helps in enhancing blood circulation, which in turn is good for hair growth.
