The decorations and food for a football party is quite easy, mainly because even posters of football players can be included in football party decorations. And for entertainment, all you need is good loud music! But when it comes to food for a football party, one falls in a fix! The food needs to be in accordance to the theme and it should also be filling! You don't need to worry now, as some easy football party recipes are described here for you.
Yummy Meat Pizza
This is one of the healthy football party recipes. Not only is this pizza tasty, but also very filling. All your guests will surely be content and full after eating this pizza!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp fennel seed, crushed (optional)
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water (120 degree F to 130 degree F)
- pound ground beef and/or bulk Italian sausage or pork sausage
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 - 3 ounce package sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup cut-up Canadian-style bacon
- 1 cup chopped green sweet pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
- cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- cup chopped onion
- 2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil, margarine, or butter
- 1 14-ounce can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 tbsp snipped fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano, crushed
- 1 bay leaf
- tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp snipped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil, crushed
- 1 package active dry yeast
- tsp sugar
- 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
Firstly heat 1 tbsp oil in a saucepan and cook cup chopped onion and garlic in it. Add in bay leaf, basil, tomato sauce, fennel seed, oregano, pepper and sugar. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to medium-low, simmer for about 35 - 40 minutes, stirring frequently and uncovered. After the mixture is cooked, discard the bay leaf.
Now take a large bowl and mix yeast, salt and - 1 cup flour in it. Stir in 2 tbsp oil and warm water, beat with the help of an electric mixer at low speed for about 30 seconds. Scrap the bowl frequently and add in the remaining flour, beat further for 3 minutes. Put the flour on a lightly floured surface and knead using the remaining flour, if any. Make a stiff but elastic ball. Divide into halves and let it rest covered for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, grease two 13 inch pizza pans for baking. Now roll the kneaded dough on a lightly floured surface into a circle which is 1 inch bigger than the pizza pan. Put these rounded pizza doughs into the pans, flute the edges. Prick the dough and bake for about 10 - 12 minutes at 425 degrees F.
In a large pan cook sausage and ground beef along with chopped onion, until the onion is tender and meat brown. Transfer the mixture to paper towels for draining excessive grease. Now spread the pizza sauce over the baked crust and add the beef mixture. Top with Canadian-style bacon, pepperoni and sweet pepper. Sprinkle cheese generously. Bake for another 10 - 12 minutes, until cheese melts completely.
Football Party Chip Dip
If you can make tasty chip dip at home, you do not need anything else! If you are hosting a football party for kids, buy packets of tortillas and serve them with this easy chip dip recipe.
Ingredients
- cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 large bag tortilla chips
- cup green diced onions
- 1 cups diced onions
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 pound sausage roll
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 cups fresh diced tomatoes
- cup sour cream
- Hot sauce to taste
- 1 cups diced celery
Take a large skillet or a soup pot, cook the crumbled sausage in it over medium-high heat, until golden. Drain the excess grease and then add onions along with celery. Cook again over medium heat until the sausage is completely brown and the vegetables tender. Now stir in barbecue sauce, beans, garlic, tomatoes, salt, pepper, hot sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Mix well until thoroughly blended. Simmer the mixture for about 5 - 10 minutes and serve immediately in a large bowl. Garnish with sour cream, cheddar cheese and diced onions.
Easy Meatball Appetizers
This is one of the easiest appetizers recipe. This yummy dish is sure to get over in couple of minutes, so do make extra!
Ingredients
- 1 package (about 18 ounces) fully cooked beef meatballs
- 1 tbsp honey
- Celery sticks
- Prepared ranch dressing
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Prepared blue cheese dressing
- 2 to 3 tbsp hot pepper sauce
First cook the meatball as per the package directions. Take a large bowl and add butter, hot pepper sauce and honey to it and mix well. Stir in the cooked meatballs, gently toss to coat. Serve with both the dressings and celery sticks.
Football Shaped Cake
The football party is incomplete without a football shaped cake! If you serve this delicious cake, you won't need any other dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 package moist cake mix
- 1 package chocolate frosting
- tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp shortening plus additional for greasing
- cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tbsp non-dairy powdered creamer
- 1 tbsp cold water
- Dash salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Anoint and flour 10 inch round cake pan. Prepare the cake as per the directions given on the package. Bake the cake in preheated oven for about 45 - 55 minutes. Now combine shortening, non-dairy powdered creamer, confectioner's sugar, water, salt and vanilla in a small bowl. Beat for about 2 minutes in an electric mixer. Add more sugar if necessary. Now slowly cut only 2 inch wide piece from the center of the cake. Remove and set aside. Place the halves together, so that they are shaped into a football. Spread the frosting on the sides and top of the cake. Place a basketweave, tip the pastry bag and fill with decorator frosting. Decorate by making laces with white frosting on the football.
