Cleaning Microfiber Couch

Microfiber is a different material as compared to the normal material used on the couch hence microfiber couch cannot be cleaned like the other materials. So to clean it, we have to check if the microfiber couch have signs like W, S or W-S. These signs indicates the quality and property of the couch as 'W' represents water based cleaning, 'S' represents solvent based cleaning and 'W-S' means that you can use either of the methods. How to Clean Microfiber Couch?

Microfiber couch can be cleaned but cleaning may not be 100%. Still it will make your couch look clean and stain free. After getting the indications of water and solvent based cleansing, you need to start the cleaning accordingly. Let's segregate it into two sections, water safe cleaning and water unsafe cleaning.

Water Safe Microfiber Cleaning
This is for the microfibers which indicate that it is safe to use water while cleaning microfiber furniture and couch. You will need a very mild detergent, cold water, vacuum using a soft brush attachment, hair dryer, white clean cold or sponge, soft nail brush. • The first thing to do is to remove the dust from the couch. Use the vacuum with its soft brush. This cleaning should be done at least once a week so as to avoid excess dust.
• Now take the cloth or the sponge, put mild detergent on it and spray some water or dip it in water.

Water Unsafe Microfiber Cleaning
When there is an indication that the couch is water unsafe then it may require solvent based cleaning or we can even use dry detergent on it. Don't forget to read the instructions before starting to clean the microfiber couch. You will need vacuum cleaner with soft brush attachment, dry and clean soft toothbrush and mild dry detergent. Now follow the instructions given below.

• Clean the couch with the vacuum cleaner and remove all the dust and debris from the surface of the couch.
• Sprinkle the dry detergent on one part of the couch and gently apply it on the fibers with the help of soft bristle toothbrush.
• Now use vacuum to clean that part nicely.
• You can also use commercial dry cleaning products but test it in a small part before using it on a bigger portion.
