Hardwood Floor Cleaners

Today, you have many choices for flooring materials. One good choice is by installing prefinished hardwood flooring. You can also have site-finished hardwood flooring if you wish. Hardwood flooring is beautiful to look at and reflects warmth and comfort. Guests having a party at your house are going to cast an appraising eye on the hard work involved in setting the hardwood floors, but what about once they are gone? The party is over and everyone was green with envy at the sight of your hardwood floor. But how on earth do you clean such a delicate thing, without running the chance of ruining it on the very first wash?

Well for starters, hardwood flooring isn't that delicate. Chances are that if you've purchased your flooring from a reputed dealer, he will have sold you the wood with some good wood finish on it. Of course that does not give you the right to go and exploit the wood in any way you want. This is merely a precautionary measure that will protect the wood against minor problems that may occur. The rest will have to be taken care of by some pretty good cleaners.

Wood Cleaners
Consult your dealer as he will know exactly what kind of wood he has sold to you and what are its specific requirements. Different ingredients in cleaners will bring out the best in different types of floors. So never go by hearsay. Always consult your dealer before deciding on wood cleaners.

Bona manufactures some of the most commonly used hardwood floor care products. It is a well-known name in floor cleaning supplies whether we're talking about wood floors, tile floors or even stone floors. Whichever wood you may have installed in your house, of whatever finish or lamination, in all probability, Bona will have something to clean your floor. Another resourceful brand is Armstrong. Armstrong too provides a full range of wood cleaning, polishing and finishing products for pretty much any kind of hardwood floor and will give your floor any finish as you may desire, whether high gloss or low gloss finish. There are other total care products from both these companies that clean and finish too.

Of course you don't run out of wood cleaners just yet! There are other hardwood floor cleaners available such as MOP & GLO's hardwood floor cleaner, Swiffer WetJet hardwood floor cleaner, etc. If you've particularly purchased a Mannington floor, then you could as well try Mannington's floor cleaners.

Another thing to consider is whether you want to use mops or steamers. Hardwood floor steamers are available everywhere and are considered a good investment, just like hardwood floors. The better known brands among floor steamers include Haan, Shark, Bissell and are available for up to $150 depending on the model of steamer purchased.

Other Things to Remember
Before you start applying the wood cleaner on the floor, make sure that you have cleared all the dust particles that may be lying on the floor. Dust particles have to be removed using a vacuum cleaner as, if we use a mop to remove them, they will create scratches on the floor due to the scrubbing action. Make sure that the products you are using have low acid content and no ammonia at all. Ammonia has a terrible smell that lingers for a long time. Acidic substances on the other hand will kill the natural shine and finish of the wood making it look older than it is. For a DIY cleaner, you can also use a solution of vinegar in water for cleaning hardwood floors.

Your hardwood floor is the pride of your place. So make sure that you indulge it using the best hardwood floor cleaners and look how it shines!
