Measuring Cup Wind Chimes

Materials Required:

  • Set of 4 metal measuring cups
  • Wire whisk
  • Acrylic paint
  • A sealer
  • Fishing line
Directions:

Choose different colors for flowers to decorate the measuring cups. Pick one color flower for each cup. Paint green lines around the sides of the cup and then paint small leaves across it. On the inside and bottom of the cups paint flowers with same color. Let everything dry and spray or brush the entire project with a sealer. Tie the fishing line to each hole on the cups, string each cup to the whisk and knot off. You can vary the length of the strings so that the cups fall in a descending line.

Floral Washcloth Craft

Materials Required:
  • Two washcloths - one white, one colored
  • Bar of soap
  • A silk flower with leaves
  • Few sprigs of delicate floral accents like baby's breath
  • Thin ribbon
  • Hot glue and glue sticks
Directions:

Place the white washcloth on a table and fold the left side over an inch. Double it again and keep folding until the folded sides meet at the middle of the cloth. Repeat the procedure with the right side also. Now fold the colored cloth in a similar pattern but keep it one inch narrow from side to side. Keep the soap in the middle of the folded white washcloth in such a way that the sides of the cloth should be even with the sides of the soap. Fold the lower edge of the washcloth up to meet the top edge, enfolding the bar of soap in the middle. Wrap the colored washcloth over the white washcloth and secure the soap in the center by tying thin ribbons around the washcloths. Tie the ribbon in a small bow style and leave the two ends to trail down. With the help of hot glue secure the small floral accents in the middle of the ribbon bow.

Victorian Note Holder

Materials Required:
  • 4 inch oval shaped wood piece
  • Fancy button or crafting button
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • Wooden spring-type clothes pin
  • Small magnet
  • Black permanent marker
  • Craft glue
  • Sealer
Directions:

Select a fancy button of your choice and use this to pick the paint color scheme for your note holder. Paint the front and back of the wood piece with main color and the edges with a contrasting color. Paint the clothes pin with a different color and allow it to dry. Paste the clothes pin with help of craft glue to the middle of the note holder, with the opening facing down so you can hold notes at the bottom. With the marker write down a message on the top like 'Please Leave a Note' or anything else that you may like. Spray or paint the entire project with a sealer but don't forget to keep a piece of paper in the mouth of the clothes pin so that the sealer doesn't seep in. Once the sealer is dry, remove the paper from the clothes pin.
