Make Mouse Pad at Home
Making mouse pads are considered to be tough jobs as everyone gets it from the store. But have you ever thought of how to make mouse pad at home? It's fun as well as easy to make it with a pair of scissors and glue. Mouse pads from the store are boring and dull, but the ones made at home can be bright and colorful, just the way you like it. You can make them as personal as you want them and in any color of your choice. Many people don't like using a mouse pad as it gets dirty very soon and has simple single colors. When you make a computer pad the way you want it, you not only take care of it but also use it very often which is good for your mouse. So, read on to know how you can be artistic and make attractive art pads all on your own!
Make Mouse Pads
Making custom pads can not only be a great art exercise for you but can also be taught to your kids at school and home. This can be a good way of exploring your creativity and make the best use of time and talent.
Materials Needed
- Craft foam
- Colored felt
- Waxed paper
- Tacky glue
- Ribbon or Yarn
- Take two colors of craft foam, blue and purple, and cut off the corners of the ends of the blue craft foam to make an oval shape.
- For the purple foam, cut a rounded triangular shape about one third of the size of the blue foam. Glue the purple triangle on top of the blue oval shape to make the mouse head.
- Then glue the yarn to the edges and underside of the blue foam to form the tail of the mouse and then cut two semicircles of the blue felt to form the ears. Stick them to the purple head and then make three whiskers from the yarn, to stick them along the face too.
- Glue two small black circles as the eyes on the face and your "mouse" pad for the computer is ready to be used. You can make many such unique pads with your own creative ideas and have fun making as well as using them.
Another great idea is to have a photo glued on it as that can keep your personal and dear memories always before your eyes. These personalized pads are very easy to make and all you need to do is get them right, so find out to how it's done with your favorite pictures on them.
Materials Needed
- A tee shirt
- Color printer
- Rubber cement
- Rubber pad material (about 1/8'' to '' thick)
- Select your favorite picture that you would want to get on your pad and an iron-on transfer sheet with a color printer.
- Crop the picture to the dimensions of the rubber pad material which will be used and get it printed on the iron-on transfer sheet.
- Follow the instructions given to apply the photo on the tee shirt, preferably use an old tee shirt as you are going to cut it out.
- Once the photo is on the tee shirt, cut it out carefully in the given dimensions. Cut the rubber pad material in the same dimensions.
- Apply some rubber cement to the cut out pad and carefully paste the fabric on to the pad. Make sure there are no air spaces in between and if there are, remove them with a scale.
- Place a heap of books over this pad so the fabric sticks permanently and properly. Let it dry for some time and then use it for your computer. You can use this as a laptop pad also.
