Cold Party Appetizers

Almond Cheese Spread

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of white cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 6 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons of onion powder
  • Pepper (just a pinch)
  • 5 chopped green onions
  • Louisiana hot sauce
  • 5 tablespoons of sliced almonds
Method
Take a bowl suited for the quantity and mix the cheese, mayonnaise, onion powder, pepper and the sauce well. Add the onions and almonds and refrigerate the spread for 4 hours. Your appetizer is ready. This spread tastes great when served with celery ribs or crackers. This food goes very well with the drinks doing the rounds!

Seafood Salad

Ingredients:
  • 2 small packets of salad shrimp
  • 4 packets of imitation crab meat
  • 1 cup of green onions diced
  • 1 tablespoons of Creole seasoning
  • A can of cream of celery soup
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of ranch dressing
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise
Method
Cook the shrimp, onions and Creole seasoning in a saucepan with butter. Cook until the ingredients blend well and then add the cream of celery soup. Stir the mixture well and heat it on simmer for 5 minutes. Pour the content into a bowl. Allow it to cool to room temperature and then add crab meat, salt, pepper, mayonnaise and Ranch dressing. Refrigerate the blend overnight. This makes great party food for all the seafood lovers.

Mexican Pinwheel

Ingredients:
  • cup of sour cream
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet of softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped green chillies
  • 1 pressed clove of garlic
  • 2/3 cups of chopped green onion
  • teaspoon of salt
  • 8 flour tortillas
Method
Combine all the ingredients one by one, except for the flour tortillas. Spread the mixture (about cup) on each of the tortilla. Wrap the rolled tortillas in a plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 8 hours. After refrigeration, unwrap the rolls and cut them into slices. This can be served on toothpicks and you can also provide a dip of your choice alongside. Salsa dip would go very well with this cold appetizer.

Caramel Fruit Dip

Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • a cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • Slices of your favorite fruit. (Green and red apples are the popular choices)
Method
Mix the ingredients well, apart from the fruits. Refrigerate the dip for a few hours. Serve the dip with slices of the fruits.
