The world is going green. With the rising gas costs and increasing global warming effects on the planet earth. Every industry in this world is making sure that they contribute at least a bit to save the world and try making it green. Even automobile companies are not far behind, they have come up with green cars, electric and hybrid sports car.

The concept of a hybrid sports car is not a fantasy. Almost everyone knows that in some years the cars which would be running on our roads would be hybrid and electric. The recent economic recession taught us a very valuable lesson and we've learned to use our energy resources very carefully. Many automobile companies have also realized this need and they came up with new and improved concept hybrid cars. First Honda came out with the Hybrid Civic and then one of the most acclaimed cars came out on the road which was known as the Toyota Prius. American car major Ford also came up with Ford Escape Hybrid which was a again a good news for SUV lovers.

Now as the market of the best hybrid cars keeps on growing and expanding. It is time you check this baby out, have a look at one of the most beautiful sports car on the road. Honda is coming up with a Honda CR-Z sports hybrid car in 2011. The new thing about this car is Honda's 3 mode drive system in which the driver controls the efficiency and power of the CR-Z. The 3 mode system offers a more fuel-efficient mode known as Econ, for speed lovers you can make it in your favorite sports car and even neutralize between the two and keep the car running in its normal mode.

This new car is powered by a 1.5 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine which gives it a 122 horsepower and a 128 lb of torque which is offered in two various models the manual transmission and CVT with paddle shifters. Now with this power, you may not win any race but it's speedy and fun to drive. Now talking about how hybrid is the new Honda CR-Z. The MT version gives you around 33 mpg and the 37 mpg is given by CVT version. Now many car experts are still not convinced with its performance because the Toyota Prius gives you an average of 50 mpg. Many people have not given positive reviews to this car but people who have accepted hybrid technology have welcomed Honda CR-Z with open arms. Now it's up to Honda how it markets and sells the CR-Z.

Nissan 370Zh
Nissan promises it to launch by 2012 with a hybrid model and 3.7 liter V6 gas model with an electric motor. The Nissan 370Zh can be a competition to Honda's CR-Z when it comes out on the road.

BMW
German car maker BMW is also coming up with their sports car with hybrid technology which is set to roll out in 2013. No name or price has been confirmed yet but according to rumors the car would be a top-notch performer and would be a tough competition to all the others in the market.

I'd say it's about time that car companies actually started thinking about the ozone layer and our planet. Introducing hybrid cars is one step closer to the modern green revolution which would prove helpful in saving our planet.
