Waterproof Digital Camera Tips and Care

Taking those lovely underwater pictures and saving those magical moments would have been impossible without that waterproof camera which has been my companion in all the aquatic adventures. The journey probably began when I went to buy it. It was like looking for the Holy Grail. I still remember that I got just the one when I was on the verge of giving it up. I have a very neat black camera. Let me share some of the things about my little camera.

Digital cameras include features that are otherwise not found in ordinary cameras like getting to see the image as soon as we click the picture and delete or edit the image that you do not like. Re-usage of the storage is possible in digital cameras. Nowadays different versions of Digital Camera are available in mobile phones as well. There are many types of Digital Cameras, which are available in the market like the Camcorders, Web cams, Live and Compact Digital Cameras, Bridge Cameras and many more. The first digital camera that came in was Fuji DS-1P in 1988 with a memory of 16 MB and which used battery to keep data in memory. Digital Cameras can hold more snaps than an ordinary that can hold only 36 frames.

Waterproof digital cameras have a different technology that defines their functioning and can capture images in a nightclub, in pool or a beach. It is designed in such a way that it can capture images of things that are four to five feet under the water and you can simultaneously view a number of pictures at the same time and can access any of the images at any point in time. A waterproof camera can be used to capture images all kinds of images but then the settings are to be changed from one environment to the other since different scenes require different modes, which are adjustable though the modes differ from one brand to the other. To know the proper way of changing the setting and the appropriateness of settings based on the environment, you can read the manual of the camera. These cameras are usually used with a traditional lens or a film since that allows more options. Either wide-angle lenses or macro lenses is used for capturing images underwater as it facilitates close focus due to which the excessive water between the camera and the subject can be done away with. To avoid distortion in case of wide-angle lenses, a dome-shaped or fish eye port can be used. Some manufacturers are already providing the case with the cameras to increase the effectiveness. In case of macro lenses; a simple glass port can be used. External flash units can be attached to the camera since waterproof cameras are used in places where there is less light.

Caring for your Camera

Here are some dos and don'ts that you should follow when you have a digital camera:

• The camera should be cleaned regularly.
• All the moving parts of the camera should be handled carefully.
• When removing the memory card or disconnecting it from the power source or a cable or taking the battery out, first switch the camera off.
• The camera should be protected from knocks, vibrations, magnetic fields, chemicals and sand.
• Avoid storing in a dusty place.
• Do not expose it to direct sunlight or keep in a car for long.
• Do not scratch the camera with sharp objects.

The reviews that have been received and which I can also give as a user would be this that a waterproof camera is a gem of technology so as it has brought so many advantages for you, it also a big disadvantage which is that it has to be used carefully otherwise there is a fair chance that your technological gem gets mixed up in its own technology and the equipment hangs.
