Broken Rib Scarf: This is a pattern which is well-suited for beginners to begin with. This ribbed scarf is in the form of a skinny scarf with a size 3'' wide. Using the same knitting instructions it can be knitted in the form of a muffler too, sizing 8'' wide. Very simple and great looking!
Cowl: On a personal note, cowl pattern amongst scarves is my fave! It consists of a combination of vibrant colors giving an extreme bold look to the fabric. The knitting pattern that cowl possesses is a combination of garter stitch and stockinette stitch, both are simple and basic knitting stitches for beginners to get familiar with.
Beginner Garter Stitch: If you are a beginner in the filed of knitting, then as the name says it all, you can allay the thought of creating this particular pattern using the most simplest stitch called, garter stitch. Create the knit stitch from side to side and continue knitting every row thereafter. All I can say is, it's great looking!
Mistake Rib Scarf Pattern: This pattern has no stipulated way of knitting a scarf. Trail along with its name and you will end up with a lovely scarf or a muffler to put around your neck.

Footie Scarf Pattern: This is one of those patterns which could come handy to you when you hubby or boyfriend wants to go cheering for his favorite football team. Perhaps, he could wear around at odd days too just being a die-hard fan of football. So you can knit footie with lot of different colors and styles using the simple rib pattern.
Simple Lace Scarf Pattern: This knitting pattern is the simplest of all. It uses simple knitting stitches to create the fabric but results in a beautiful panel lace rib. Slightly difficult than a garter stitch but is yet simple enough for beginners to begin with.
Wide Garter Stitch Scarf: As mentioned before, garter stitch is the foundation of knitting. Following the pattern of knitting every row, a beginner can easily get the hang of settling his/her hand on the knitting needles. This pattern is termed wide because it measures 200 cm long and 22 cm wide.
Chunky Ribbed Scarf: Pattern followed for this scarf is same as that of the ribbed, it's just that it measures little narrow than a regular scarf. Its knitted in a two by two rib giving it a great look. Also the requirement to knit this pattern lies in the knitting needle sizes and thick yarns.
Seed Scarf Pattern: As the name suggest, seed scarf will have something similar looking to seeds or small bumps in the pattern. Yes, it does have that. Moreover, it uses moss stitch to help create popular knitting patterns for beginners.
Scarf Patterns for Men
Completely Cozy & Reversible Scarf For Him: This is one of those patterns for scarves which can perfectly complete the looks of your man's clothing. It uses reversible cables in a fluffy thread which helps to keep him warm and cozy on winter nights. Also, it has a narrowed neck area so that it doesn't bulk around his neck.
Crosshatch Cravat: The yarn that is used in making this scarf pattern is nice and thin which would create a fabric worth to be worn in any weather except summers of course! A crosshatch stitch is used and is knit in cravat form.
Moguls' Scarf Pattern: This pattern for scarf consists of two varieties of knit stitches, the stockinette and the reverse stockinette stitch giving alternating stripes with reversible two colors ribbed appearance. It's very cozy to war around the neck plus quick to knit too.
Seaman's Scarf Pattern: It's narrower ribbed at its center part omitting all the bulk on the overall fabric. Using a simple cable repeat stitch with easy seed stitch borders gives a warm and sophisticated appearance to the scarf.
Men's Scarf Pattern: Just too apt for beginners to knit with, this scarf is quick and stylish in looks. Follow the simple knit-purl-slip combination and trust me you will enjoy your project.
