Wardrobe Essentials for College Girls

I'll confess. Throughout my college years, I waged a daily war with my mother over frittering hours and hours in front of the mirror, just in hope of bamboozling my college crowd as I walk by, making a fashion statement of my own. Half of the battle, for me at least, was not so much the act of attending college, it was the bother of getting into the correct clothes, carrying a great handbag, and an attitude that's worth a million dollars. I was never spiritless towards my life, for I knew how to circumvent my boredom - experimenting with my wardrobe. You see, life of us, girls, isn't at all a piece of cake. As though the college years aren't fraught with distress any less - studies, tests, flirting, dating, and break-ups hit you, all one by one. Trust me, there's a tough world out there that awaits you, and you need to prepare for it, for it's bound to get tougher.

When adolescence beckons, you find the opposite sex a whole lot more attractive than it is, and that's when you hunt all over hell for a wardrobe that speaks volumes about you, and all but fails to entice. You may own a gamut of the most desirable fashion clothing in your wardrobe, but you know, there's something you lack. Something that most girls live in and live by; jeans, flats, and funky Ts. I know not how important is it for you to fit into the right clothes, but I do know, if not all, at least a bit of those clothes that make up for perfect wardrobe essentials for college girls. While I cover up the must-haves, you bring your gray cells into action. You have a lot of creativity to implement here.

Wardrobe Essentials for Girls in College

You know, you'd always have an issue with the latest fashion trends that are zooming, and the money you have in your wallet. You cannot go on unnerving your parents for buying you a new college dress every other week, and that's what will annoy you the most. Well, for the most part, I think, just grab a few wardrobe basics, and you're sorted. If you think of yourself as the next fashionista, you need not feed your wardrobe to gills with a thousand clothes, with nothing to wear. A few rescuers is what I have to speak about here:

  • A pair of blue denim jeans
  • A crisp white shirt
  • A loose tank top
  • A hooded jacket
  • A glossy handbag
  • Boots with heels
  • Stilettos
  • A tiny black dress
  • That I-can't-look-any-better outfit
That outfit you feel the most confident in, could be anything - a loose T and a pair of rugged jeans, a floral gown, or even a beach hat! With reference to the above wardrobe must-haves, a good (expensive too) pair of jeans ranks way up high on the list. Know why? It's a rescuer, I tell you. Wear it with whatever - a tank top, a shirt, a long top, or even a bikini top, it's bound to look sexy. Certainly a wardrobe must have.

A crisp white shirt, for me, is an all-inclusive outfit, for it's full of options. It is the white shirt that could transform you from an interviewee to a cowgirl, in a matter of minutes. Don't believe me? Well, wear this shirt with a pencil skirt, and you're ready for a seminar or meeting in college. On the other hand, wear it with a brown leather hat, a pair of rugged jeans, and those boots with high heels. Voila, a cowgirl couldn't look any better.

I have a thing for jackets that are hooded. If you know what I mean, you'll know how jackets, mostly hooded, save you from making the most common fashion blunders. What's more, a hood adds coolness to even the most boring T-shirt you wear. If you've tried it before, you won't be able to agree more with me, would you? What follows jackets is a great handbag, certainly an essential when it comes to women's clothing. Sincerely speaking, I own a gamut of handbags, ranging from street fashion to the most expensive showrooms. However, there's a thing about that big, glossy handbag. It's black in color, and goes with anything and everything I wear. Don't compromise with the color, just ensure it's not too fluorescent. It'll enhance even the most basic outfit you don, trust me.

No wardrobe essentials list could be complete without the mention of that tiny little black dress that is the answer to every night out. You know, there's a thing about black dresses. I'm colorblind to everything else, simply because, when you don black, everything else you wear becomes secondary. Pair your black dress with a clutch, wear stilettos, do some smokey makeup, and leave your disheveled hair. If this doesn't steal words of wonderment from hunks at the prom, I know not what else does.

You know, with college, there is a series of firsts. You have a first time for everything. First date, first kiss, first love, right around the corner. For that first prom date, a nudge in the right direction is what I intended to give on what could make up for the most appropriate wardrobe must-haves for girls in college. I may not be a fashionista shelling out advice on what's in and what's not, but I can tell you one thing - being loyal to a particular type of dressing isn't too cool. Teenage is the age to experiment with what you have and don't have, for some clothes, even if not comfy, are enough to create a unique style out of a boring you. My word.
