How to Transfer Music from a Computer to an MP3 Player
In the early 80s, an American tabloid carried an interesting story about a mass weight-loss revolution that was happening all over the world, and how most gymnasiums hadn't taken it too kindly. Fitness centers, aerobic clubs and gymnasiums were losing out on business big time to none other than... hold your breath... the Walkman. The Walkman had become a massive craze all over the world and it had completely transformed the overweight community into a group of slim, trim and fit people. The concept of portable music had become so popular and addictive, that people began going for morning walks, afternoon runs, evening jogs and even night strolls, all for the sake of experiencing the 'In' thing - the Walkman.
The MP3 Player
A quarter of a century later, there has been another worldwide revolution on pretty much the same lines as the Walkman. This time around, the wonder object goes by the name MP3 player. It has swept the entire world like a huge tidal wave and has completely changed the way that people listen to music. It is no bigger than your average matchbox and has a capacity of storing a whopping 20,000 songs! And we're not done yet... most of these tiny gizmos have an inbuilt FM radio, voice recording features, jazzy displays and much more. But one of the main reasons for their popularity among the masses is their ease of use. All you need to do is spare 5 minutes of your time to transfer your favorite music from your computer onto your MP3 player. That's it. You're done! Sounds easy? You bet it is! Read on to discover a simple 5-minute guide to shift all your music to your MP3 player.
Steps to Transfer Music from a Computer to an MP3 Player
- First and foremost, you need to physically connect your MP3 player to your computer using a data cable. In most cases, you do get the data cable along with the MP3 player itself. Match the end-slots of the data cable with the computer and MP3 player sockets and connect them appropriately.
- Assuming that your computer is already powered on, you should now switch on the MP3 player. Almost instantly, you will see a new window and a message appearing on the computer screen acknowledging your MP3 player as a peripheral device. Do not close the window as it is required in the subsequent steps.
- Select the particular music folder that contains the songs and the audio files that you wish to transfer to your MP3 player. Through the right-click menu, select the Copy option.
- Go back to the earlier window that shows the MP3 player contents. Once again, through the right-click menu, select the Paste option. This will copy all the selected music files from your computer to your MP3 player.
- Once the file transfer is complete, you can confirm the same using the window that displays the MP3 player contents.
- Switch off the MP3 player, disconnect it from the data cable and you're done!
