Morning Exercise

For most of us, mornings are probably the laziest time of the day. It's trouble right from getting out of bed and pushing yourself out of the door for work. Well, the simple solution to flush out all the laziness is exercise. Other than this, there are many other benefits that will lead you to a healthier life.

Benefits of Morning Exercise

These are the reasons that should motivate you to get into those tracks early in the morning.

Good Metabolism
An early morning workout routine boosts your metabolism and also keeps it up and running throughout the day. A good metabolism keeps you fit as all the nutrients are utilized in a correct manner, that is only if you eat well.

Energetic You
Exercising rids you off the laziness and keeps your energy levels up. It also freshens up you mind thus allowing you to stay cheerful and optimistic for the whole day. It also enhances your concentration span which will help you focus on every activity you do during the day.

Weight Loss
Your circadian rhythm and sleeping pattern is improved. This in turn affects the secretion of hormones that control your appetite. It helps you in improving your diet and helps you better in weight loss than exercising in the evenings.

Difficult to Miss
Mornings are more relaxed and if you wake up on time, you can exercise and then carry on with your daily routine. This may not happen if you workout in the evenings, as other plans sometimes hamper your routine.

Exercise Routines

Walking: Brisk walking is the best morning exercise. It has the least risk of injury. Walking involves stretching and strong muscle movements. It also boosts your immunity as it stimulates T cell and antibody production.

Full Body Squats: These involve standing with your legs apart at a shoulder length distance. Your arms should be held pointing forward. Slowly go down by bending your knees till your thighs are parallel to the ground. Hold the position for a few seconds and come up. This should be repeated at least 5 times. It strengthens your leg muscles.

Crunches: Lie on your back with your knees bent. Cross your arms across your chest such that it looks like the alphabet, 'X'. Crunch fast and go back slowly. 10 to 15 crunches per set are good for beginners. This exercise helps tone your stomach.

Push-ups: This is a more suited for men. While doing this be sure your legs and body are straight. Look ahead and not at the ground. Go down and come up quickly. Again 5-10 push ups in a set are good when you begin.

Power Yoga: Starting your day with yoga is good for women and men. The gentle movements in yoga help in releasing stress and also tones and prepares muscles for more vigorous activity during the day.

An important tip that will help you never to miss the exercise is finding yourself a workout partner. Partners definitely motivate you to push off the snuggly warm blankets. If one is lazy the other can coax you to get out and exercise. If you are one of those who are groggy and stiff in the morning, spending more than half of it in waking yourself up with cups and cups of coffee, then please consider exercising in the morning. Integrating a little physical activity in your life will definitely improve your quality and way of life. A perfect jump-start to the day!
