Changing original hair color with a totally different color is in vogue these days. Hence, trying different hair color ideas and applying dye to change the existing hair color is a common practice, let it be for highlighting or lowlighting the hair. But, sometimes, some people notice that the dye has worked a bit too much on their hair, leaving too darker shades. How to Lighten Dyed Hair Quickly

Hydrogen Peroxide

All you need is a 3% solution of the hydrogen peroxide and a spray bottle. At first, wash your hair clean so that all the oil and dirt from the hair gets removed. Leave it there for about half an hour and then wash it with cold water. Later, apply a mild hair conditioner and rinse the hair well. You can repeat the same procedure after a week to lighten hair color, if you want.

Using a Clarifying Shampoo
One of the most recommended ways to lighten hair is the application of the hair clarifying shampoo. The hair clarifying shampoos are scientifically formulated to clean tough dirt and sebum from the head. It also helps in getting rid of the clogged hair follicles that can lead to dandruff and such other hair problems. To lighten dyed hair with clarifying shampoo, all that you need to do is to bring home one of the clarifying shampoos that are easily available in the market. You can try some home recipes for making your own clarifying shampoo too. For instance, you can use a mixture of baking soda and a regular shampoo or a mixture of beaten egg and lemon juice or a mixture of apple cider vinegar/white vinegar and water. Make it a point to wash the hair thoroughly with cool water and to use a mild conditioner as well.

Hot Oil Treatment
Using oil is the best and natural way to lighten dark hair naturally. Not so popular practice, the method of hot oil treatment actually reduces effects of the chemical hair dye colors. You can try the homemade hot oil treatment to lighten hair naturally. All that you need to do is, to mix equal amounts of extra virgin olive oil and canola oil in a bowl and heat until they get warm. Afterwards, you must apply this oil mixture in an upward direction (start from the tips towards the roots), on your hair. Then wrap the hair in a warm towel and leave it for half an hour. Now, wash the hair with cool water and apply a dry hair shampoo to make the hair totally oil free. It is also important to use a mild conditioner in order to avoid any damage that can be caused due to the dye. Hot oil treatment will not totally remove the dye color, but it will certainly reduce its effects to a significant extent.
