Wireless Mouse Problems

There are a lot of technological advancements in the computer world. However, once that technology keeps growing, things can get complicated for some who lack the interest or desire to learn them. If some things get stuck, at times, it can be very frustrating to fix them. For example, wireless mouse has taken up the market by storm. It has no actual wire that connects to the computer or laptop. What it does is transmit a signal between the USB wireless receiver connected to a USB port on the computer. Although a mouse is a convenient invention for mankind, minor issues can crop up from time to time. If you are facing some wireless mouse problems, go through the article below.

Mouse not Working Properly

Tip 1: The first option is to resynchronize the mouse to the wireless receiver. There is a button on the mouse and on the receiver. Read the manual for the settings of synchronization steps.

Tip 2: If you still have issues with mouse not working properly, try and change the USB com port. Sometimes, there is a conflict in the com ports. Use the appropriate cables or devices that came with your mouse kit.

Tip 3: If the problems with wireless mouse persists after you've tried solving it with tips 1 and 2, try shutting down the computer. Keep the devise connected with the computer and restart it. Check if your wireless mouse is working or not.

Tip 4: One of the simplest techniques is to inspect the batteries. It is very obvious that if you have problems with the mouse, the first thing you see is if the batteries are not dead or dying. Change the batteries if needed and restart the whole device, resynchronize the device and see if it works. Make sure the batteries are of good quality and work for a longer duration.

Tip 5: There can be interference by various things like wireless routers, radios, cell phones, or large metal objects (computer cases with the signal of the mouse). Avoid keeping such things near the mouse or the receiver, and check the performance of the mouse. Avert putting the mouse or its receiver near an electrical device, particularly transmitters like cordless or mobile phones, which are likely to interfere with the wireless mouse signals. To avoid any further issues, maintain a distance between the mouse and the receiver of at least 8 to 12 inches. Do not put the mouse or the receiver on a metal surface such as long metal wires, rails, or cables. It is better if you keep the mouse and/or the receiver at least 2-3 feet away from such metal surfaces, cables, or rails.

Tip 6: Any other issues can be because of improper or old drivers also. Go to the manufacturer's site to get the latest drivers and if still it does not get resolved, reinstall the drivers and check the progress of the device. The mouse should start working properly.

A final solution to fix your issues is to see if the problem is cause by your computer or the mouse itself. You can connect the device on another computer and see if it works on that computer. If so, then the device can be at fault. If the device does not work properly, then the mouse can be at fault. You can change the mouse if it's under the warranty or else buy a new mouse altogether. A computer mouse that is cracked or damaged should be replaced with a new one immediately. If it fails to respond to user input or continue to act erratically, it should be returned if under warranty or replaced.
