How to Tie a Bow Tie Step by Step
To the best of guys it is 'knot' an issue, but yet for some it can be a dreadful situation to handle. The task that I am talking about is sort of entangling you in a confusion, isn't it? Any guesses as to what am I talking about? Let me unveil the secret for you. The cat is out of the bag now! I am describing about tying a bow tie or even neckties in general. Now, you must have got the reference when I said it sort of tangles you in a web of confusion. But, if you frequently have to go for formal and semi formal functions and social dos, you cannot afford to be stumped by the knots of the bow. It is good idea to have a rough idea at least about tying a bow tie. So let's learn how to do it.
Learning to Tie A Bow Tie
Round 1
To start off, you would need to lace the bow tie around your neck. The right hand side has to be around 1.5 inches longer than the left side. Let the tapered middle of the longer end be lined up with the bottom edge of the end which is shorter.
Round 2
The next step is to slip the shorter end beneath the longer end. This is akin to tying the proper shoe lace. Taking that example of a lace will help you get an even better understanding of how to tie a tie the easy way.
Round 3
Now adjust the tightness of the bow, as later on the adjustment cannot be done. If it is not adjusted beforehand, the tie may turn out to be really uncomfortable. Easy way is all about getting the knot and adjustments of the bow correct.
Round 4
Take that hanging part of the bow tie which is short and double it over itself. You can do that by folding the wider part of the top of the hourglass shape of the bow in half.
Round 5
What you have to do now is to pinch the center of the folded piece and then place it on the top button of the shirt. Now for the rest of the process, you would have to hold the bow tie there in place. Eventually for the other end, the way your index finger works on the tie will direct it in the apt direction.
Round 6
We are now coming to the end of this process of tying a bow tie. After you hold the bow on the top button, fold the other end of the tie over itself, akin to what you did with the other end of the tie initially.
Round 7
Now, hold the folded end perpendicular to the earlier folded end, which will form a cross shape. Follow that up by placing the new folded end under the first by passing it through the hole behind the bow first made, that is where your index finger is. This will form a knot in the center, just over the top button of the shirt. With your index finger, push the new folded edge through.
Round 8
Now again pull on both the ends of the bows for tightening the knot. Finally, adjust the ends of the bow tie to make sure they are of the same length and even.
Voila! You have done it! This is where I sign off. All the best!
